Overview
TYPEFIRE is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you use TYPEFIRE and how it is used. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service.
Information We Collect
- Leaderboard scores: If you choose to submit a score, we store your chosen nickname, WPM score, accuracy percentage, and submission timestamp. This information is stored in Firebase Realtime Database (Google). Submission is entirely optional.
- Usage data: We may collect anonymised analytics data (such as pages visited and session duration) via Google Analytics. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.
Cookies and Advertising
TYPEFIRE may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
For more information on how Google uses data when you use our site, visit Google's Privacy & Terms.
Third-Party Services
- Firebase (Google): leaderboard data storage — Firebase Privacy Policy
- Wikipedia API: used to fetch typing passages — no personal data is sent to Wikipedia
- Google Fonts: used to load the Inter typeface — Google Privacy Policy
Data Retention
Leaderboard entries are retained indefinitely. Because entries are submitted with a self-chosen nickname (not tied to any account), we have no way to identify or remove individual entries on request.
Children's Privacy
TYPEFIRE is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
